Peptide Supplier Shipping Considerations

Understanding how peptides are shipped, storage conditions during transit, and risks of degradation during delivery.

Shipping methods

Peptides are typically shipped frozen (in insulated boxes with ice packs or dry ice) to prevent degradation during transit. Reputable suppliers use expedited shipping to minimize time in transit. Room-temperature shipping risks degradation, especially for heat-sensitive peptides.

Shipping methods and conditions should be documented on the supplier's website or in correspondence.

Tracking and temperature monitoring

Responsible suppliers provide tracking information so you can monitor delivery status. Some suppliers use temperature-monitoring labels or data loggers in shipments to verify that the peptide remained within safe temperature ranges during transit.

Ask whether the supplier provides temperature verification for international or extended-duration shipments.

International shipping and customs clearance

International shipments pass through customs, which can delay delivery. Delays increase exposure time and risk of degradation. Customs may also request documentation, lab testing results, or regulatory approvals, which can further delay clearance.

Plan for potential delays (1–2 weeks or longer) when ordering internationally.

Preventing delivery damage

Upon receipt, inspect the package for signs of damage, leakage, or compromised insulation. If the peptide arrived at room temperature or thawed during transit, the quality may be compromised. Request a replacement immediately if damage is suspected.

Document the condition upon arrival in case you need to claim a refund.

Storage upon receipt

Upon receipt, immediately place the peptide in appropriate storage (typically -20°C or lower freezer). Do not leave the peptide at room temperature. Lyophilised peptides should be stored in the freezer and kept dry. Reconstituted solutions should be stored at the temperature specified by the supplier, usually -20°C or lower.

Frequently asked questions

The quality may be compromised. Contact the supplier immediately for a replacement. Document the condition and communicate the issue in writing.
