What Is Third-Party Lab Testing?

Why testing at an independent lab matters more than testing at the supplier's own facility.

Last updated: 1 April 2026

What 'third-party' means

Third-party testing means analysis done by a laboratory that is independent of the supplier — separate ownership, separate financial interest. Independence is the entire point.

What's typically tested

Identity, purity, residual solvents, heavy metals, microbial load and endotoxin levels are common targets. Not every lab tests every parameter — check the scope of what's been measured.
